Hello all. I just installed this motherboard http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Pro...uID=92&LanID=2

It has a Core Duo processor, which came pre-installed. However, when I turn it on, all of the fans come on, as well as my various case lighting, the cd drives will open and close (when I press the button, not on their own) and the cd drive lights will blink. However, nothing appears on screen, regardless of the monitor being plugged into the AGP video card or the onboard. Unfortunately, I don't have a system speaker, and so I am unable to know if it is trying to give me any system beeps. I think my RAM could be the problem, but I'm not sure and I don't really want to buy more if it isn't going to help. The monitor works fine when plugged into my other computer.

The power supply is 650W as well, so I don't believe that to be the problem.

Thanks in advance.

I have a pretty good feeling that the problem is your AGP video card.
The AGP slot on the motherboard is an 8X Slot. And your video card might not run at a compatible speed, resulting in no video signa.

So if you get us the model of your video card we can see if that's the problem.

Unfortunately, I no longer remember the model number. However, it is an 8x card. That much I do know. Of course, it's also ancient, so it may just be old. I'll take it out of the comp and see what happens. Let you all know what happens.

Well, I took out the video card, as well as the sound card, and nothing happened. Still no signal. I then tried reseating the RAM, and I was able to start the computer and get into setup before the system froze entirely. Power off, power on, and we're back to square one. I'm thinking the RAM is shot. So, I'm going to get a new stick and use that. If it doesn't work, I can always upgrade the other machine.

Result!

Got new RAM and installed it, and the hardware works fine. Of course, now I have to re-install windows, but that's alright.

And I got 2 gigs of RAM for $70. Not bad at all.

Thanks for the help. Without it I wouldn't have figured this out.
