I have a Dell Optiplex GX240. When I turn the computer on nothing powers up and there is a steady orange light on the motherboard. I replaced the PSU first but still had the same problem. I was then told it was a motherboard problem and replaced it but I still have the same problem.

If anyone has an idea as to what the problem could be that would be great.

Thanks, Danny

If you are 100% sure the replaced parts are connected correctly and are not faulty also then change the CPU as a last thing to try.

Normally these type of faults are a PSU or failing that a motherboard.

Seeing as you have changed both already I would try another PSU just to be sure before doing the CPU.

Thanks very much for your reply. I'll take your advice and replace the CPU and if that fails I think I will just buy a new computer:D
