i have a dell rite now and i want to put the processor in a new motherboard and i was wondering if that was possible and what i would need to do to do that i have a new mobe already and a video card etc. and all i need ...

i have a dell rite now and i want to put the processor in a new motherboard and i was wondering if that was possible and what i would need to do to do that i have a new mobe already and a video card etc. and all i need is the processor and this one is just sitting around thanks for the help

The answer is yes and no. It IS possible to put the processor in a new MoBo, (if it's compatible a make and model of both the Mobo and Processor would let us know lol), but unless you got the MoBo from Dell, it is NOT possible to put it in that case. Dell uses proprietary components as much as they can. If you look at your new MoBo, you will notice hole in it where screws would go to screw it into a case. Now open up your Dell and see how that MoBo is fastened into the case. they have holes drilled in completely different places and hooks sticking out of the MoBo that hold it in the case rather than screws. If you get a whole new case though (not a Dell Case), it is highly likely that what you have will work together.
