| Yup. But it's not solely dependent on the cpu. The majority of games rely more on the graphics card than the cpu (although the cpu is a factor). But a gaming build is taken from the monitors resolution. I need to know that before I can spec you a build.

| Speaking through experience, Intel's Xeon processor(s) range are very adept at handling/running through demanding apps. They're not often used in Desktop machines but it's quite possible to rig up with one on a suitable board. Oftentimes you'll see them in workstation machines as they're very good for extremely demanding tasks e.g. editing analogous video data etc... (Obviously emphasizing their power.) Though, as Alex has already pointed out, the Graphics card in your machine will tend to hold the greater weighting when it comes to performance with games. Though I would advise you have a look at the Xeon CPU's on the market atm. I really don't know all that much about the gaming scene but I would definitely take into consideration the Xeon chips available. If anyone else knows otherwise though, I'll stand corrected quite happily. |
