Hi, I have just installed my new Asus M2N-SLI deluxe and I don't get any picture on my screen. Graphics card (8600 gts) is plugged in properly.

Every thing sounds like it boots up and all the fans and everything is turned on. All plugs are in correctly.

Im guessing its to do with drivers/bios settings but since I have no screen I have nothing to look at.

Everything was working before and the m/b is new.

Please help!

Ok problem sorted. After reading a few previous posts I discovered it was RAM related.

On my old m/b I could use 4 x 1gb sticks on XP 32-bit (although it only detected 3.5gb) . I took one out to see and it now boots.

Any particular reason why this m/b only likes <4gb with this OS?

You need a 64bit OS to use the whole 4gb, 32bit OS's dont detect more than 3-3.5GB of ram.

Yeah, but that shoudn't cause it to break and not show anything on the screen. Possibly a more likely explanation that the stick you took out happened to be faulty. You might not need a new one; I was wondering why my old laptop wouldn't boot when i found a tiny microscopic piece of solder shorting out 2 of the pins on the ram chip... Scraped it off with a knife and all's fine now!
