Default No Windows, or Dvd Sound But, Realtek Hd Audio Manager Output Tests Work.

I get no, windows default sounds or no dvd play back audio. The realtek audio manager seems to produce test sounds for both left and right stereo channels. do I need to change some settings or something or, since I used the same unaltered hard drive with OS. and files, and just attached the new Gigabyte p55m-ud2 motherboard and intel i5 750 2.66ghz. to it and booted up could I have some drivers, files, etc. missing, corrupted? all the realtek hd audio manager tests ran on my 2 channel speakers came through loud and clear just no start up windows sounds or dvd play back sound. I am running my hdmi output from my graphics card to the monitor hdmi input and all of the missing sounds come through the built in monitor speakers just fine so maybe, the OS. and all files are just fine. In device manager I clicked on sound, video and game controllers then, right clicked Legacy Audio Drivers, properties, properties again and I get a blank box which says multimedia devices at the top so, I assume there is something missing? Thanks for all help! ps. winxp home sp2 I just noticed Legacy Video capture devices shows blank box with multimedia devices at the top also.

If you have changed the motherboard, you will need to uninstall the existing driver(s) reboot the PC and install the new drivers from your motherboard disk.
