Really Bad Question But Its Been Bugging Me For A While.

I got a new motherboard with a AMD Anthlon XP 2200+ . not a good processor but it was better then my old one and considerably worse then my other pc which is a quad core *yay!*. is it possible to run this CPU with no fan? i ran my pentium with no fan and it worked fine but since AMD is a different company and its a little bit better i am reluctant to try it without asking.

I had a 2800+ S754 that used to run at around 25-30c, so I set the fan to come on at 35c
The only time it used to come on was while gaming

my Pentium 3 ran without a fan for like 2 or 3 years. it still would have been running if my basement didn't flood and kill every piece of electronics i had :( but yeah most of the time it isn't a good idea. im thinking the only reason why it worked in my basement was cause it was freezing all year round.

A fan will always be a good idea regardless.
