I am thinking about overclocking for the first time, and wanted some advice. This is my setup:

CPU - Phenom II X3 720 2.8ghz
Mobo - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813128387
RAM - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813128387
GPU - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814102835
PSU - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817139001
My main concern is my PSU being able to handle it. Also, I'm thinking that the RAM would not allow for much oc'ing, and same thing for my GPU.

I can run all games at max so it's not like I need this, but I like to play around with stuff :) if it's not worth it then I won't.

I would say your psu is fine. The ram links to your motherboard. What are you trying to overclock?

Ok, that "RAM", is a motherboard...

corrected link?

It shouldn't matter too much, unless the RAM is wild.

Best way is to just try it and see if it works.

Oops haha. Guess it didn't copy. Here's the ram: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16820220227

I'd like to overclock as much as I can, I'm just uncertain about how much I should increase everything by. I was thinking of oc'ing to 3.2ghz, but after that I'm completely lost with RAM and GPU, and to my understanding it's kind of a pain to oc them.

The multiplier is probably locked.

If not, just increase it.

If it is, increase the FSB gradually (5 or 10 a time)

I just read the reviews on my RAM, and I guess it doesn't overclock very well. So now I'm not sure what effect going to 3.2 instead of 2.8ghz would do, but I guess I'll start there.

Just bumped my CPU to 3.3 and 1.35v and it's running pretty smooth. I'm not seeing an increase in frame rate though, so I'm thinking i'll have to oc my GPU as well?

Ya if you want to then go ahead. Just increase the core and memory clock by about again 5 or 10. Each time run 3dmark or something and check for any artifacts. If none then go higher. Also check the temps to make sure they are ok. When you start seeing artifacts or temps that are too high take it down about 15 and run 3dmark again and make sure its ok
