the only reason i belive this is because with 704mb of RAM avilable to the system it should switch fairly quickly espically if thats all i have open.

Unlikely it would be that sort of thing happening with the RAM, but it's possible. Usually, you'll just have a problem with it booting to Windows or freezing.

Default Overclocking and heat.

hummm i didnt know so i bought it back down to 2.30Ghz, theres another option but when i disable the auto clock control it hides it, something like Dram frequencie and gives the options of:

100mhz
133mhz
166mhz
by spd

i think it was that but to overclock i must disable this, its confusing its a phonix bios if anyone knows what im on about.

The only way to know is to keep pushing it until it's unstable and then back off.

ok, is there any software that will allow me to create a log of my performance so i can compare when it was not overclocked to being overclocked?

3DMark'll do it, just run the CPU test.

Default Overclocking and heat.

ok so ive reached a point where it now reachs freezing it failed to boot at 2.7Ghz, did boot when CPU:DRAM ratio was changed to 1.33:1.00 but i felt it was slower, so its been taken down to 2.62Ghz, and the ratio put back to 1.00:1.00, i belived it failed to boot due to lack of volts but can find no where to change this, it has been taken down to 2.62Ghz becaus i know its not at its very limit here is some info.
