Default Overclocking Sempron 2800+

Posting to ask if anyone knows any precise settings I can input in the BIOS to try and over clock a Sempron 2800. (To... as fast as it will run stably! Doesn't need to be wow, if I could squeeze another 200-400Mhz out of it, I'd be pleased.)

The board's pretty old, winfast number. Not a highly customizable beast but nonetheless with some options.

I'll give some figures, if they're any help to anyone. (Read out from CPU-Z)

Core Voltage 1.392-1.408 V.

Multiplier x 8.0, Bus Speed 199.6 MHz, HT Link 798.3.

And from BIOS...

CPU Clock 200MHz, Mem Volt [Default], Sys Volt [default].

CPU Temp = 52 C, (Warn at 70 C)

CPU Fan speed = 2860 RPM.

dont rush overclocking just go up by 1 each time each time untill it doesnt run stable then put the voltage up

If I remember correctly, the BIOS allows me to put it up by some fraction of a volt each time, so... should I just do that? And trial & error iteration type stuff?

No. Upping the voltage doesn't overclock the cpu. It simply puts more power through it.

As the sempron has a top-locked multiplier you'd be better dropping it to 6 and upping the HTT in increments of around 10mhz, and then stress-testing the overclock.

Take the htt as far as you can on stock voltage, again, stress testing each increment. As soon as it's unstable throw some voltage at it to try and stabilise the overclock.

So, in laymens terms... "Turn it 'aff it the back!?"

I change the multiplier from '8' to '6'

The 'HTT' is...? Well... I know it's the speed at which the board commz with the CPU but I didn't notice HTT anywhere in the BIOS? Is the HTT not effectively the FSB then or what? Does it have another alias?

By stress testing the overclock do you mean run several demanding apps. etc? To see what it's like under that workload aye? I imagine there are certain pieces of utility software which can do the same thing for me too yes?

Sorry, I'm a novice here.
