i have a 2x dvd rw, a card reader, 2x250gb h/d, 1x80gb h/d all sata 2 and a 8800gts which are all fairly new and i plan to use in new spec pc, so for the new m/b i thought either the asus p5k premium wifi ap or the gigabyte ga p35c d53r which one you prefer or is there another one you would recommand? for the ram i thought either the ocz 8500 reaper 2x1gb or the crucial ballistix6400 2x1gb now the cpu i thought at first the q6600 but would i be better off with the e8400, or maybe o/c a e8200 lastly should i take the plunge and go for vista over xp and would the stock cooler for whatever cpu i choose be ok for o/c Many thanks My System: redden137

P5K Premium has a lot of SATA compatibility problems, a lot of DOAs, and a lot of general wonkery. I wouldn't buy that board.
I'd suggest the Ballistix simply because 1066 RAM is usually a waste: If you're planning to get the 8400 (my pick), though, and if you want to take it over 3.8ghz or so (mult is 9x, DDR 800 can at least go a little higher over that 400mhz FSB) you might grab it instead. Stock cooler's fine, and Vista's OK.

I'd recommend the Coolermaster Cosmos RC-1000. It's a big case I grant you that and it's a tad expansive at £120 but it doesn't just look cool, it also keeps all your stuff inside very cool. Appart forom the northbridge chip on my mobo (which is known for running a little hot) noting inside my case is hitting 30 degrees.

I have the e8400...i think its fantastic. but your mobo gotta be compatible. Make sure you update bios asap on a mobo. if one is available.
It looks like your an overclocker not an SLi-er i have the p5n-d mobo which im about to SLi on and im at 3850mhz on the e8400 which is reasonable for me. |

Oh and for a case...Sharkoon Rebel 9 or 12...Depends how big you want a case...
It comes preinstalled with a 120mm fan at the front and has a beast of a 250mm fan on the side panel. That with a Arctic Freezer 7 Pro...(what i have) thats the stuff lol. |
