Default Password Problem

Hi All

I have a problem with a password. I have an old Pentium 2 TINY computer that i want to give away to some friends but as i boot the computer up a password command appears. I have no idea what this password is as i have not used this one in 12 years. I seem to remember that there is a way of holding certain keys down in order to access setup pages. My question is, what are those keys and can i change this password to one i can remember?

Suzanne.

Default Password Problem

If you open the case there will be a watch like flat battery on the motherboard.

Remove it for 5 mins and the password should go.

Make sure the mains power is not plugged in.

Also doing this may reset other settings so be prepared to mess about if it does, we can talk you through it anyhow.

Just a thought but with the operating system that is on that machine (12 years) you might not be doing your friends a favour.
