Computer problems ( I think its the processor) But I want to ask what you guys think.

First of all my motherboard is

Intel® Desktop Board D850GB
And the support website is

Processor is
Pentium 4 , 1.5 ghz 428 socket

I bought this with ram, cpu, and processor.
I noticed I couldnt get my processor out of the motherboard for some reason. I opened the processor socket lever and still couldnt get it out. I looked up guides on the internet to see how to get processors out. I had a feeling it was stuck in there. Well, anyways I just thought I couldnt get it out.

But there was also no heatsink or fan to go with it. So I had to buy the heat sink and fan. Once I installed those, I installed the motherboard into the computer tower, along with everything else.



Okay, so when I finally turned it on. I get No Post. No picture, my monitor just has a blinking screen. I tried all of the obvious stuff. I made sure my video card was in there intact and my monitor was connected right. Well, anyways. According to my motherboard's manual. There is a LED indicator that indicates problems with it. It displays 4 greens if everything is okay.

What it indicated from the bottom is Amber, Amber, Green, Amber. Which indicates there is something wrong with the processor. So after that. I took everything out of my computer. Then I wanted to check to see if the processor was seated correctly. So I took the heatsink and fan off and when I did that, the processor poped out along with it.

So I wiped off the thermal grease from both the heatsink and cpu. And put some new thermal grease on the heatsink and cpu. Then I tried the computer again. The same problem.

Then I also researched and figured out there is this 4 pin connector on the motherboard that needs to be plugged in for the processor to get power. So I bought a new power supply and hooked that up because the one I was using didnt have that 4 pin connector. The computer still doesnt work. I still get the same LED indicator error. Now at this point I went to:

And followed some troubleshooting stuff. Verifying memory and stuff. My motherboard does beep when I take a stick of ram out. Then I changed the ram around. I also removed all the nonessential items it told me about and then tried it. Same problems. I dont think its the memory or bios. Since the LED indicator.

I dont know how it expects me to update Bios if I get no picture or I cant get to the bios. Only way is to reset the bios with the jumper thing. Which I cant even do because of the stupid floppy drive doesnt work on xp on my other computer I'm using right now. But the the update bios thing is the samething. I dont know why they state it two times.

Only thing of left I can think of now. Is its the processor anyways. And now I'm just realizing its probably a good assumption that it wasnt even seated properly. Because the thing didnt come out at first. But now it seems that the processor does go in and out easily. But I'm thinking it could have messed up the processor. So what do you guys think?

Should I buy a new p4 processor?

No, I wouldn't dump any more money into a computer based on a processor from 2001. With all the money you've spent on this you could probably be halfway toward putting together a new C2D system.

Well, Its only going to be $10 more I think on ebay. Someone told me it needs to be replace cuz that LED indicator does indicate processor issue. Thats a indication that BIOS hangs on POST test.
