Default Pentium 3 Temp

I was doing a spybot check, and noticed CPU usage had stuck at 100%, so I downloaded speedfan to see what the temps were like, and the CPU temp was 41c. Is this normal for the temperature to be this high when doing a spyware scan?

The Spyware scan will use the cpu so it is normal for it to be at around 100%.
I dont know the thermal spec for a Pentium 3 but 41C under load does not sound high to me.

I concur.

P3's run cooler than their toasty P4 bretheren, but 41c at peak working sounds fine to me. P3's, if memory serves, are good for around 70c.

Thanks for your replies.

One thing I forgot to mention in my first post is that 3/4of the way through scanning, I got a BSOD...there wasnt any code, it just said "hardware failure please contact your vendor for support".

Well any BSOD is bad but is this a once off or does it happen every time you run a scan?

I've just done another scan and it was successful, no BSOD etc. So it looks like it was a one off.
