| I was doing a spybot check, and noticed CPU usage had stuck at 100%, so I downloaded speedfan to see what the temps were like, and the CPU temp was 41c. Is this normal for the temperature to be this high when doing a spyware scan? |

| The Spyware scan will use the cpu so it is normal for it to be at around 100%.

| I concur. P3's run cooler than their toasty P4 bretheren, but 41c at peak working sounds fine to me. P3's, if memory serves, are good for around 70c.

| Thanks for your replies. One thing I forgot to mention in my first post is that 3/4of the way through scanning, I got a BSOD...there wasnt any code, it just said "hardware failure please contact your vendor for support". ![]() |

| Well any BSOD is bad but is this a once off or does it happen every time you run a scan?
