I want to upgrade my processor which at the mo is a amd athlon 2.2 478 socket. Can i put a Pentium 4 478 socket onto a MSI N7 platinum mother board????

Are you sure its a S478 and not a S462(socket A), as I have never heard of a S478 AMD before!

Yes positive. Thats why its a struggle trying to find anything decent. Think I may have to bite the bullet and fully upgrade my whole system.

Are you certain of your motherboard Make/Model ? as this product does not exist, according to MSI Support :

Also if you have an AMD CPU currently fitted, it is extremely unlikely (unless it's a combo board), that you will be able to fit a P$ to it.
