Phenons Vs X2's

Morning all,

Im just wondering if the Phenon Quad cores are worth the cash...

All it is, is that lately i had to update my mobo after the CPU mount snapped off! wasnt happy to say the least.

So ive updated my mobo and its a new ASrock that supports the Phenon quad core cpus. I was wondering if its worth the money to get one or if they aint worth the cash..

My specs are ------

AMD Athlon X2 5000+ 2.62Ghz
ASRock ALive NF7GHD 720DPi
3GB DDR2 800 Kingston
ATi Radeon X1950 XTX Crossfire Edition
SoundBlaster XFI Fatality
2 x 500GB Sata Maxtors
1 x 1TB Sata WD
30' Sony HD Screen

Will i gain much updating the CPU or will i have to fork out alot of cash?

Cheers all

Personally I think the Phenoms are junk and that opinion is shared amongst quite a few others.

Your CPU isn't slow so I doubt I'd bother. A 45nm Intel would be your best bet but would need a new motherboard as well.
