Default Please help may have fried my motherboard!

hi there i was wondering if anyone could help, i think ive fried my motherboard...
i recently changed pc cases (for the first time).... i hook up everything and
I press the power button and the fans start for a split second then go dead.
ok so then i figure out whats wrong, im a real dumbass........ i went and screwed the new motherboard into the case without those little seperator things that keep it from touching the metal.

now can one of you tell me if this has spelled the end for my motherboard? have i fried it beoyond repair?
i went and added the the things to it so it was no longer touching the metal back board, but it wont switch on its dead in the water.

if theres any advise you could give me id be really gratefull!
thank you

You may well have done it irreparable damage. As you've guessed the standoffs are there for a reason.

Best advice I can give? Re-mount using the standoffs and pray, keep fingers crossed, go kill a rabbit for its foot etc etc
