Default Poll: The Best VALUE For Money Motherboards...

Hello, Im going to buy a new motherboard very soon.
Ive got a shortlist of a few motherboards which meet my low requirements, i cant really destinguish which is the best of them all because their specs are similar, tell me which board brand make the BEST VALUE boards.

Oh, yeah, please explain why you say so too and / or which one you wouldnt choose.

Thanks, Ant...

Oh, sorry about there only being five, these are the only brands on my shortlist! The other ones are either too expensive, i havent noticed them (unlikely) or they dont meet my requirements!

I'm going to have to go with Asus, although I have not owned all of those brand names, out of the 3 that I have ASRock, Asus and Foxconn
Asus was by far the best
The Foxconn died within a day, although it was cheap I did expect it to last longer than that
And the ASRock, well, I just don't like them for some reason lol,

I think it really depends on what you want to do with it, gaming requires features not value for example.

For normal office duties Asrock are the cheapest and just as reliable as the bigger brands.

I want it to play games, and do my work.
I dont play very demanding games, I play, AOE2, stronghold crusader, gta sa, ghost recon, etc. For work, the most demanding application is netbeans!

Asus. Full stop.

Most of the technology from their higher end boards (Striker extreme, commando, P5K etc) filters down to the lower end boards-you get the same core spec, but less bells and whistles. It's almost the same as when you buy a car:

"Yes sir, you want the BMW 3 Series but do you really need the 3.0, or would you be happy with the 2.3"

The bells and whistles comment refers to Raid, top-end ram support (much more expensive ram), w-fi daughterboard etc. If you know what you want from your motherboard and want to save some money on the purchase by not getting a board with excess features, then I guarantee Asus will have it.

Heres my list of boards, these are the only boards i can find which meet my criteria and ive filtered through about 200!

There are 9 different boards.

There is only one ASUS board which meets my criteria, which is the M2N-MX. Just incase anyone was interested.

Hey up, we're always interested here Ant. Just takes us a bit of time to reply sometimes. My apologies though, I'm working on a couple more articles and havn't had chance until now.

Considering what you put in reply to my post in your other thread regarding which motherboard to purchase, the differences between this one and the one I quoted are negligible to be frank (considering your quoted usage) but this one fills your criteria more.

So yeah, if you're happy go for it. Decent board for the price.
