I've just built a system and have a Q8200 in it (Budget I know but it's pretty fast) and I've just been offered a Xeon X3360 for £50 and was wondering if I should pick it up? Online they're a good £200+ so I could always eBay it I suppose bit would it get me better performance in games over my Q8200? It has a higher clock speed and being a Xeon, more cache than a terrorist (12Mb, compared to 4Mb) but It's not all clock speeds and cache in the processor world.

Anyway, would this be a good pick up for me?

Cheers, Razer.

I'd get it and ebay it off! Nice profit on that if it goes for 200.

How about buying it and selling it on here for cost lol
I will put it under DICE and see what it can do

The X3360 is the same as the Q9550, its really made for servers, has a higher thermal rating and uses less volts

I might well pick it up just to cash in on it. Would be quite nice!

My mobo doesn't have the right chipset so if I get hold of it, I'll be selling it.

Not sure if I'm allowed eBay links on here cos I'm not a donator and thus cannot sell but I'll keep you posted on what I get.

Looks like I'll be selling the chip on tuesday for £200 on ebay, if it arrives. If anyones interested, PM me and I'll link you to the eBay auction.

My apologies Dave if this breaks the rules!

Feel free to post the link up in the CJ Used Marketplace and then link to that thread in this one.

I might do, had some interest in my Q8200, may put that up. Going to get the Q9550 if my Q8200 goes for decent pennies. Will post up a thread when I get some news.

Cheers Serverguy =)
