hi all i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about a motherboard problem i seem to have,
ok i found an old m/b i hadnt used for ages ( skt 462 with 2400xp cpu ) i put it in an old case wired it up booted it and it stopped on the start-up screen saying there was an error and to go into bios this i did, saw no probs but loaded the default settings for the board pushed f10 and it then rebooted but i had no bleeps from the board and no start up screen, changed agp card and ram but couldnt get it started so i took it out and left it
i tried it again two days later and the same thing happened
it seems if i leave it out for a day or two and then refit it it will work only once then its dead (fans spin but thats all ) for a day
i have changed the ram, graphics card, battery, and psu, tried it without h/d or o/d
im just puzzled
any ideas?

It could very well be that the pcb is damaged.

How has it been stored?

Where has it been stored?

hi yes could be m8, but thought lifting it in and out would make it worse not the same, just seems strange that after a day out of the case it will work again just once
cheers
