Default Q6600 temps

hi i have recently been using speedfan to monitory my cpu tamps and they seemed ok 39 idle and 55 load but then i downloaded core temps and found out then when on firefox and with coretemps running im at 49 degrees all cores
im using core 0 as an example

coretemp= core 0 = 49 c
sandra core 0 = 42 c
speed fan core 0 = 35 c

what one is correct ? i would like you to say speedfan but i doubt you will
also i just re applied the thermal paste as i was worried that was to blame for the temps but im getting the same results
i apply about the thickness of a grain of rice 1.5cm across the center of the processor
the sooner you can get back to me the better
thanks

Both could be right to be frank....or wrong for that matter Cewy.

Quads are notoriously difficult to measure with any degree of accuracy because you've more often than not only got two core's running any kind of process.

But to be honest, and again as we've touched on this before, there is nothing whatsoever wrong with the highest temp you quote. This is a quad afterall.
