Hello, I have two questions... To start off, I just bought a set of Kingston DDR2 667 1GB RAM sticks from newegg (Newegg.com - Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory) and was wondering if it was compatible with my motherboard, an ASRock 4CoreDual-Sata2 (Newegg.com - ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 LGA 775 VIA PT880 Pro/PT880 Ultra ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards). Also, would it be possible for someone "tweak" the BIOs making certain RAM incompatible, for example the set I just bought? Thanks in advance.

If there is something wrong with the RAM (or you think it because of the RAM) what exactly is happening?

I think he/she meant if it wasNT compatible, is it possible to change any settings to make it compatible.

I don't know, but I certainly don't think it is, either way, by phil's word it is compatible, so no problem there :D

Well I originally had my PC built with that motherboard and GPU and DDR ram and I was wondering if it was possible someone tweaked the BIOs to optimize that mobo to run DDR RAM at the expense of DDR2? I am having problems with the new DDR2 RAM I bought. The specific problem is my computer restarting when trying to start up a certain game(Team Fortress 2) or while trying to connect to servers. This problem is not prevelant with the DDR RAM that I have.

Well unless there is an option to dissable DDR2 it shouldn't be able to effect it. Do you still have the DDR RAM in the motherboard when you put the DDR2 RAM in? or did you remove it and replace it with DDR2?

I did take the DDR RAM out before inserting the DDR2. Another question, where would I find such an option to disable DDR2 in the BIOs?

Bump. I returned the set of DDR2 back to newegg for an exchange, but the new set does the same thing... (restarts when connecting to a sever on Team-Fortress 2) It actually restarts while trying to play any Orange Box games. I don't seem to get this problem when I start up something else like Counter-Strike or Assassin's Creed.
