Default Raid Mode

Hi All

I have a question about this mobo GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

I got 3 identical sata hdd's that I wanted to put in a raid mode that would make them all duplicate hdds.
So I build the computer with that mobo and those hdd's. But now, I need to know if the mobo even does raid at all I'm not sure

If anybody can help me please do

Thanks

Elijah

Default Raid Mode

Err, don't you only need 2 drives for mirrored RAID.

Default Raid Mode

I though It didn't matter how many hdd's you had

But I guess if I can only have 2 then that'll work also.

But how do I set up raid?

Default Raid Mode

Yeah, it does, that's why it's called mirrored raid.

Why would you want three anyway as it's unlikely two will fail at the same time.

I think you will be fine but have a look on the Gigabyte website, I'm sure it will say.

You set it up buy configuring the settings in the BIOS.

Default Raid Mode

Well the mobo doesn't support raid
So I need to get a raid controller

Ya see, I haven't ever set up raid before so I need a bit of help

I have 2 of these hdd's:
Western Digital Caviar RE WD1600YS 160GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

And I would like to put them in a mirror raid mode which is I guess raid 1 >http://www.bestpricecomputers.co.uk/glossary/raid-1.htm

So what kind of raid controller should I get
If somebody could find a low cost one on newegg.com that would be able to do mirror raid that'd be great

Thanks for any help

Elijah
