Default RAM.

Hey all, Just wondering if anyone could set my mind to rest. Im concidering buying some new RAM http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-072-OC to replace my stock 512mb RAM, Thing is im using a Dell dimension 4600i and i know dells can be fussy in the hardware catagory. Any advise wont go unapreciated thanks....

I don't think that memory is compatable see this page, it's from dell, it has the memory that is compatable with that PC.

That memory is DDR2 you linked to. Your computer needs DDR as DDR2 won't fit.

You need something like this:

2GB http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...id=8&subid=481

1GB

512MB
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...tid=8&subid=65

Or alternatively from Crucial guaranteed to work (almost):

and as the link I gave you, if you want to keep the warranty, you need to buy the sticks from dell.

Glad to be of help. The Crucial is good stuff unless you have to return it... which is a PITA (personal experience)
