Well 1Gb at 400 is faster than 512mb at 330.

Sorry but your post doesn't make great sense :p

I have 1gig 400 mhz ram now

if i put the 512mb 330mhz in it

my 1gig will become 330mhz to + 512mb extra

so thats 1,5 gig 330mhz or 1gig 400mhz what is faster/betteR?

Well if that's the case go for more memory.

Being honest your best bet would be to get another 1Gb at 400mhz.

I wouldn't recommend (or advocate) putting different speeds of ram on a motherboard.

I would recommend however, as Slipend has said, just purchasing another gig of 400mhz ram.
