I am wondering if it is possible to turn RAM into SSD?

From my understanding, RAM is similar to a SSD as they both store information on it. The only difference is that when the RAM has no power to it, it will loose all of its data where-as a SSD will store all of its data. If there is a way to prevent RAM from loosing its data when there is no power, will it be possible to turn RAM into a faster SSD?

I dunno if I am making any sense here... just a thought I had while I was in the shower this morning.

It's called a RAMdisk and a lot of different utilities will let you create one.

It's a fun experiment but not very useful in practice. A good SSD is fast enough - and you can install an OS on it :)

Oh, I was just thinking that if someone finds that a SSD is not fast enough, they could start turning their RAM into HD space.

Just wondering, is there special hardware that attaches onto your mobo to allow you to put more slots of RAM?

No, that's pretty much impossible.
