ok so atm i am using a Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X Socket 775 1066MHz DDR2 Motherboard with 1066mhz ram, i am wanting to buy :-

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz SLI-Ready Edition Low Latency Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2N800SR4GK)

it runs at 800mhz i am wondering if i could install this ram and run it no probs along with the original ram running at 1066mhz? any help would be greatly appreciated!

The ram should work but will run but they will all run at the slower speed of 800mhz, you have not stated which operating system you are running, if your running xp/vista 32 bit it will not recognise any more than 4 gig, the 64 bit version of vista will recognise 128 gig of ram, not sure of the 64 bit version of xp tho

oki cool i can use x64 vista and it will work oki!

the new ram i want to install has timings of CL 5-4-4-15-2T and the old one has timings of EPP 5-5-5-15 would that affect anything at all or would it still all run smoothly??

Mixing thge timings should not be a problem but there are loads of different companies that make memory and they are all different and put up with different things, some memory don't mind being "underclocked" but others, usually cheaper brands hate it and don't function properly. By all means have ago and see what happens, if you get a problem, just stick with the 4 gig and take the other memory out

I have not had much luck with overclocking, i tried over clocking mine and the sata hdd went for a walk, lol, only came back when i set it back to normal speed, lol. It looks like a high clock so the cpu is going to run hot, I would recommend the 3RSystem IceAge, from the reviews I have read it is the best on the market and alot of hardcore overclockers use this. Maybe someone else could give you some better advice on overclocking.
