Default RAM problem.

Ive been using 1gb of ram for a while since i lent my friend my other 1gb for his new DDR2 ram motherboard.

Now i just got it back and finally excited about being able to play crysis on maximum and, i installed the ram and now everytime it loads windows XP it flashes a blue screen with lots of text and quickly restarts the computer.

If i take the RAM out it works fine but i kinda need the extra 1gb.
The confusing part is both RAM are the same.

Both are 1gb 667mhz Elixir ram. Got them both at the same time in the same box.

Anyone know the problem? If so i would greatly appreciate you jotting it down :P

Thanks, all the best - Eltoc

MrDavey. I got it to work. Apparently theres 4 ram slots in this brand new MoBo 2 red and 2 yellow.
The one that was in before was in a yellow slot and the one i put in i put in the red slot.

I just put it in the other yellow slot and away i go. Thankyou anyway MrDaveyk.

Keep this thread open for Searchers of the same problem.

I have a similar problem although the problem i have, is that the Motherboard now Bleeps, i have found out that the bleeps indicate a RAM related problem, I will post later with more details.

-I have 4 RAM Slots the Current RAM i have is 2X 512mb DDR2 i want to purchase a 2GB Ram pack but the bleeping is putting me off so basically the PC is dead for now!

Default RAM problem.

It's unlikely both 512mb sticks have gone bad together.

Try removing one and see if the bios bleeps disappear, if not swap them arounf, leaving just one stick installed.
I know it will be slow, but it will prove the case and maybe give you a bit more faith in your motherboard.
