| Right I have just bought some more RAM for my pc. I bought 2x 512mb and I am sure they are the right sort as I researched it. I put them into the banks, the right way round, all the way in. Then when I start up the computer there is this beeping sound it makes, and no signal to the screen. Ive even tried swapping all the memory around, but no different. Is this a case of completely the wrong type of memory or is there something im missing out..... My computer is an acer aspire t180 and the RAM i bought is 512mb DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHZ which according to this >>>http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscan...188BFE31D926C3 should work Please help. |

| The beeps are a code indicating a problem which I assume is memory related. Is all ok if you go back to original memory?

| What was/is the speed of the original memory? it may have been faster the your new stuff, thus making it run too fast

| Ok thanks for the replies so far.... Now I no longer get the beeping after re-arranging how I had the memory. But upon booting up the computer the screen goes distorted/fuzzy and does not go any futher than the acer boot up screen. It will not allow me to enter the setup either SocialWarfare I will check the speed of my old memory when I next take it appart (probably after school) but the new memory is 667 mhz Any ideas? |
