Default Ram question

Hey guys, im new here. Basically i want to add more memory to my computer, but im not quite sure what to.

I have a Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe motherboard, i have two nvidia 7600gt gfx cards, but only 1 gig of memory, which makes even some old games hard to play.

Ive been on a couple of websites, but there seems to be all kinds of memory sticks to buy, and im still kinda new to this stuff as this is really my first good computer. So if any of you could point me in the right direction on what to buy that would be great. (I'm looking to add as much memory as possible)

thx

Default Ram question

Your board takes DDR2 memory up to a speed of 800,you have 4 slots on board. If your running Vista 64 and you want keep your 1 gig which I presume is in 1 stick then go for 2 sticks of 2 gig and 1 of 1 gig trouble is it needs to be matched. You maybe better putting 4 sticks of matched 2gig in and selling on the single stick.Buy a decent brand Crucial,Corsair. If you're on XP 32 bit anything above 2 gig is a waste and I think its the same for Vista 32 bit. Just had a thought though if you're struggling to play old games it maybe something else with your rig, whats the spec.

No don't need all that at the mo just run CPU-Z and post the results. really just looking for HDD CPU and what it's clocking. re the ram if you're going to go to Vista go with the 8 GIG but if you're sticking with XP it doesn't handle more than 2 gig.

Default Ram question

Sorry for the delay it's Saturday wife shopping yada, yada, The P4 isn't the best for gaming .I think you're right you need to up the ram I would sell the 2 512 and put something like this in OCZ 800SR2GK goning to be about £90 and change your CPU for a c2du0. At the moment you spec looks a little unbalanced.
