Default RAM upgrade headache

True, but Linux does not write to an NTFS drive and the maximum file size for FAT32 is 4Mb. w1ls0n might easily go over that depending on the kind of editing he's doing. I'm foreseeing compatibility issues with Windows systems...

Cheers:
Chris

False, false, true!

Linux reads and writes NTFS now (but ext3 is better)

Max file size for FAT32 is 4Gb

Hang on... forget about the FAT32 issue. Practically anyone owadays is using NTFS anyway.

But Linux writing to NTFS? I was always told that Linux can read NTFS but not write to it... Can you elaborate a bit please? I stayed away from Linux on my DTP system because I was affraid of compatibility issues, but if I can be proven to be wrong, Windows goes and Linux enters...

The latest versions can read and write NTFS.

And the other way, you can read/write ext3 from Windoze:

It makes a complete nonsense of security, doesn't it?

Yes, I have my system and user partitions in Linux mapped to drive letters in Windoze and my Windoze partition linked into the Linux file structure.

(Sorry I seem to have hijacked this thread.)
