Hello,
Firstly, only just found this site and as it seems to be primarily British people I thought I'd join. :) Now to my question. I have an Acer T180 (insurance claim replacement) that I'm slowly adding bits to. The Mother board is a EM61SM/EM61PM with AMD 64X2 4000+. I've recently put in 4 x 1Gb Geil Black Dragon DDR2 4.0GB PC6400 memory sticks which seem to require 2.1 or 2.2volts to be stable at the higher frequencies. I managed to find a version of the BIOS online that has had some of the hidded functions unlocked. However, I cannot see within the BIOS an option for changing the RAM voltage. I have read on some forums that this a jumper type change, but haven't been able to confirm this. Could anyone advise whether this is the case? I don't recall seeing any voltage related jumpers when I was inside the case, but I admit that I didn't look too hard. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

It's highly likely being a Acer brand that the RAM frequency is locked.
