Default SLI and Fast Memory

Hi,
I'm trying to find a good quality 775 Motherboard which supports SLI (add a second nVidia-based Graphics Card at a later date) and also can support high DDR2 memory speeds (DDR2 -1066 or even 1200). The two seem to be mutually exclusive - is this a limitiation of the nVidia chipset (680i etc..)?

Not mutally exclusive, just expensive.

Asus Striker Extreme. Auto-reads 1066 ram, I think it does with 1200 as well, although I could be mistaken.

But the Striker Extreme reads till 800MHz ram!!! That is what their website states.

But alex, what do you mean by "Auto-reads". You mean that when you place the sticks of 1066MHz or greater, the mobo would automatically adjust the speed accordingly?

I'll ring my mate tomorrow re the pc I built for him with the striker, I seem to remember upp'ing the ram to 1066mhz in AI Suite, to double check.

Sorry, was sure. Now I'm not (thanks for posting Thunderer-I'd hate to give incorrect info to anyone).
