Hello and welcome
That is your chipset you have listed
Download CPU-Z
Install and click on the mainboard tab, that will tell you your motherboard make/model

Ok it says:

Manufactur: Acer
Model: MCP73 NVIDIA MCP73
Chipset: GeForce 7050 Rev: A2
Southbridge: nForce620i
LPCIO: ITE IT8718

And that's pretty much it. I googled all of them but not much about motherboards came up.

That is the problem when you buy from Dell/Acer/XXX rather than build your own, you get a motherboard with no support site to answer these questions.

OK then I suppose a better question would be what exact model of Acer is it?

I can't find out much about it really, how much RAM does it have?
I think upgrading the RAM would be a good enough upgrade for speeding up your system

Q9300 requires a 1333mhz FSB, your chipset usually only supports up to a 1066mhz FSB.

With motherboard BIOS updates it's possible, but unlikely.
