Question Some quetions about memory

Hello, I have a computer that i bought last year and I have put inside 1 GB of ram -
OCZ 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400,
Capacity 1GB,
Speed DDR 400 (PC 3200),
Cas Latency 3,
Timing 3-3-3-8
And I am wonding if I would add another let's say 1 GB ram to my machine with different timing would it slow my machine...?
And what would happened if I would add DDR2 with my DDR how would it effect on the preformance of my computer...?

It wouldn't really slow the machine too much Space, but the motherboard would force all the ram to run at the same timings. So if you purchase CL4 ram (for instance) and added it your CL3 ram, above, would run at CL4.

You can't add DDR2 with DDR ram as each type is totally different. DDR ram is 184 pin, DDR2 ram has 240pins so for starters it physically won't fit in the slot. DDR ram also requires more voltage, default, to power up.

Just look at your motherboard first. what kind of ram does it support and only after that should you go for the type of ram upgrade.
Generally speaking, a 2 GB upgrade over 1 GB of ram, won't really make a very big difference over your computing. It has been proved through various reviews that performance increase reduces considerably after a particular amount of ram increase.
