Default Is there hope???? (RAM issues)

....I have an old Dell Dimension 8200....which has PC Bus RAM.....I was told that I can only buy this type of RAM for my computer....well has we know this type is extremely pricey....is there an alternative...or am I stuck buying this type of RAM...I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this situation.

Thanks:con fused:
