Hey everyone.

A while ago my laptop fan was always on full after being on for 10 minutes, i looked into the vents, and the whole thing was full of dust, so i took the laptop appart and unscrewed the fan to get access, in doing this, i seperated the heat sink and CPU (not thinking) and after i did this i removed the dust, and remember about thermal paste.

I thought it wouldnt really matter becuase i use the laptop very rarely, but recently i have been using the laptop more, the fan is sometimes at full speed, but only when there is a high CPU load and the CPU temp has peaked at 75 digrees celcius.

Do you think this will be ok until i buy some thermal paste within 2 weeks?

Thanks.

David.

Are you allowing good air flow? even having a laptop on a flat surface like a desk can still be to little.

ermm, david whats your cpu ? core2, penitum M ? its unreasonably high if its a Core 2 (its OK for a Pentium M :P). But tbh get thermal paste, my CPU lowered about 5 - 7 C with thermal paste. Well laptop CPU are suppose to be able to run up to 100C, you'll be fine but i still advise you to get thermal paste.
