| ok so ive had a few atemps at trying to overclock my intel E8500 - 3.16 GHz Tools i have with the Asus Striker II Formular AI Suite and the bios i need some helps with it coz sometimes when i oc above 360frequency in the AI booster the pc freezes. so i can only get it to 3.4 GHz aiming for 4GHz the voltage is at 1.23 and nearly in the red on the AI Suite, if u know what that is.. not mine but wot AI Suite is.. Here my voltage bar has 3 uncolourd bars left cpu temp is 24 and this is at 3422.52 Mhz (oc'ed in the Ai booster) 360frequency. hope u understand some of that^^ anyone know y i cant oc any more? and how can i get it to 4Ghz? | you may be pushing the ram too far, downclock it a bit and see if it works then

| Spencer is right on. Also, the voltage can be upped safely to at least 1.3625V, if not higher (that's the 8400 vcore and I would suspect it's higher on the others, and many have taken it up to 1.5V with no problem, of course those guys say 70C is an acceptable workload temperature, I beg to differ)
