Default To upgrade, or not to upgrade...that, is the question

right now i have a E6300 OC 3GHz. i want more (maybe) i recently saw the price/performance of the E8400 and I'm quite impressed. if i get one i should have no problem OC to 4GHz like many other on air. what do you guys think? should i go 42nm?...

Short answer: If you've got the money, and your motherboard supports it, then yes, why not?

I'd reckon close to 4 on air too considering it's 45nm, but it will also depend on the voltages your motherboard can supply.

Still, an E6300 at 3ghz won't be lagging behind many cpu's.

I'd wait and get the whole package later with DDR3 tbh.

i can skip the DDR 3. haven't OC's my RAM too much yet.
