| I want to add another stick of RAM to my system. I currently have 2x1GB sticks of Kingston DDR2 667Mhz running in Dual-Channel Mode. By adding another stick i won't be able to run it in Dual-Channel mode, so my question is is it best to a) Add a stick of 1x1GB RAM b) Add a couple of 512MB sticks c) Leave it be and stay with 2GB because Dual Channel is better. On a separate note, if i have a 32-Bit OS (Vista Premium) and i added 4x1GB sticks would the 3.25GBs shown run in dual channal... I'm guessing not. Thanks |

| If you still want dual-channel (and why wouldn't you) you'll need to install 2x512mb dimms. No harm in installing 3gb, your os willl see it. But even 64bit XP or Vista can only see a max of 3.5gb (vista). If it was me in your position though? I'd be binning the 667 altogether and going for the higher bandwidth of 800mhz, if your board supports it. 2gb of this should handle any home application you throw at it.
