Default Upgrading anyone?

Fancy a new top end cpu? Intel's orginal top-end Core2 cpu, the X6800, cost in the region of 600 quid; dual core, 2.93ghz per core, 4mb cache.

Check this out.

I really need to upgrade...

With these price cuts I can just about justify doing it.

Correctamundo Havaack :) hence the thread starter.

Wander just what AMD are going to do about this.

Back to the 6850, its not got an unlocked multiplier but stil, 3ghz at stock on a 1.3ghz fsb is not to be sniffed at. Just got to get some lower latency DDR3 in the market (as timings of 7-7-etc are plain silly, even with how the memory's controlled on a core2 setup).

Ha! thats like saying "I've always driven Lada's so even though I can get a brand new Ferrari for the same price, I'll be sticking with the skipmobile"

A dodgy analogy but you get the idea.

I sure do, but if Intel win the war we will all be funked, which is why I always support the underdog
It would be like X6 blah blah blah for $266, no it wont it will be charge what ever we want wars

I've been watching the E6850 lately. I thought it was reasonably priced before, but now seems quite a bargain.
