Default Upgrading processor and RAM. Any Ideas?

I currently have an AMD 4600+ and 2gigs of Kingston HyperX DDR2 800 PC2 6400. Wanting to upgrade to an AMD 6400+ w/Zalman 9500 heatsink and add 2 more 2gig sticks of RAM.

I will soon be upgrading to Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

Does this seem ok?

sounds like an excellent purchase to me. just make sure your motherboard can hold all that ram. make sure you've got all the slots necessary and all that wonderful stuff.

and zalman is an incredible fan/heatsink maker. i wouldn't trust very many other brands. again. excellent choice there.

simply put.....do it.

Why do you hear so many gamers adding so much RAM to their systems? Maybe just showing off, but you would think it would help out a lot sooner or later. Thanks for the reply

Yeah TBH even Crysis only uses 1.5gb as the minimum.

TBH 2 gigs would serve you on most if not all games for a few years and 4gb for over 5.
