so i have a pretty old HP pavilion Desktop and i want to upgrade it because it is not able to run the games of today well enough anymore.
I wanted to get more RAM and a new graphics card but i feel overwhelmed and confused by all the things on the net. I wanted to know if any1 could shed some light on what i should be looking for as in what is compatible for my system. here are the specs of my comp

HP pavilion a454c
INTEL(R)
pentium(R) 4 cpu 3.00GHz
3.00Ghz, 504 of RAM

p.s am i able to get a 4GHz RAM chip even tho my CPU is 3GHz? am i able to get 512MBs of ram even tho i have 504 base ram?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

No, there is no upgrade path for P4. Your best bet is to buy/build a new machine if you want to game. You can put more RAM in it but gaming wise it's not worth the money to try to "upgrade".

Hence why I said "it's not worth it for the money" to buy a "Geforce Something Or Other" and 2GB of DDR1 when a new PC that eclipses it in performance is as low as $350, nor did you indicate in your original post that you were playing WoW in which case I would have suggested something completely different. In the future if you aren't looking for advice that contradicts throwing money into a giant black hole perhaps don't post threads asking for it so as to avoid wasting people's time!!!!
