lol i dont think u been reading properly its a case that lyes down flat:


bit like this one, but mines more wider and not as tall.
so if i opened it up im guna get a shock as it sits on a shelf just above the ground

you don't need it open for very long, just long enough to determine whether the lack of air circulation is the issue

I agree, leave the top off for a while as hot air rises.

I thought the Celeron 2GHz and early (Northbridge) P4 2.8GHz were interchangeable, but I can see you would get cooling problems.

Possibly replacing the PSU with one with a big fan might produce more throughput of air?

humm well we will see when i get back in 2 weeks how much should i pay for a p4? no harm in seeing if it does work as long as it aint a load of notes lol

There are some on eBay. You will need to match the FSB speed (400 or 533MHz, not 800MHz probably).
