triple phenom? cant find any...
quad phenom? 9600?

Which best for hardcore use?

Buy Intel.

Oh and tripple cores do not exist, it's single, dual or quad.

Go for the quad for a bit of future proofing, as for current games they are only just starting to use utilise dual core CPU's as far as I know.

Get intel
cheaper. faster, less heat some very o/c able
and id stick with dual core as no advantage to quad in majority of software use at mo but whose to say in 6 mths

yep he has tried and seen the light, before amd were better but you will have to realise that intel are one step ahead, now i am in no way bias here but it is the truth
google amd quad vs intel quad and see what comes up

I may have an AMD at mo m8 but thats because back then they produced a better, faster, more overclockable cpu, but now AMD are playing catch up with INTEL who are producing better and faster cpus at a cheaper price so im not an" intel fanboy" i just go with the best option
