| That sounds alright, though I'd get the X3 720 for a little more money (though dunno how it is over in the UK as far as that goes). The 550 is a good choice though if you don't want to do either of those, but with the 720 you'll get the same performance and another core. Crossfire is better than SLi but it's just a bad move overall. The 4890 is a powerhouse at that res and multi-card stuff like Crossfire has a lot of disadvantages for very little advantages. If later on you want to upgrade, you can use the money you saved from buying another one now and get the highest end card of the next generation which'll easily beat Crossfire 4890s. Also, unless it's a really good deal I'd skip the TT PSU and grab a Corsair or PC P&C. 520HX should be fine. ToughPower is okay but it's not as high quality as the other two. The "perfect" one is always the one with 1% performance increase but triple the cost. What you can afford is usually the best strategy anyway :p

| Even if you did Crossfire, yeah it should be fine.

| Yeah, in most scenarios you'll be running at the power of one 4850 at 1920x1200 and in the others you'll be running at slightly below the power of two at 1920x1200 and most of the time even a single 4890 will beat those. duct-taping together two honda civics doesn't let you beat a ferrari.

| hmmm well Ive heard Nealy every were i turn multi gpu's are not the way to go am cuz most games dnt support it or havernt take the full advantage of gamers who have that in there system either way im just gunna have crossfire to future proof my self. it just decidd now what 4890 brand i shud go with the xfx black editon or the shappire now they have two they have a 4890 atomic diton or the vapour-x editon both are praitcly the same but at diff costs whats my best best m8 :) |

| You cannot "futureproof". The midrange or high-end video card that comes out in, say, two months is going to beat your multi-card setup. "Futureproofing" is impossible in general but it's even more silly here. Like I said, save the money you spent and buy another one a few months down the line. As for brand, it doesn't matter, buy whatever's cheapest unless one has a substantial clock difference.
