I'm just wondering, when im replacing rams is it better to have (forget about the size of the ram) 2x 1GB RAM Sticks or 1x 1GB + 1x 2GB?
EG MY computer has 2 1GB ram sticks now, forgetting about it size wise what if you have 1 1GB Stick and 1 2 GB stick? or it doesnt matter? thanks |

It's best to have a pair (or any multiple of two) of the same capacity and size. But capacity is a bigger deal than dual-channel speed, so if you have 3GB lying around in 1x 1GB and 1x 2GB, that's probably better than the alternative.

You may or may not get the advantages of dual-channel in that case. It won't be incompatible or anything, though.
