I have ASUS Intel 850 Chipset P4T-E Motherboard socket 478 P4.
I recently have been trying to build a pc out of this, but ran into some problems. Im new to this site kind of...but here we go.

I was wondering how to find out what kind of PS, RAM, and other needs for the MB to get it running. I have mostly older parts. But there was one point in time where i did get it running. But about 2 days later it just shut down, and i started it back up, and it was stuck at post. Just a black screen. I tryed countless things, Like...Changing PS, Ram, Disconnecting the HDs, CD, and Floppy.

So back to my question. Is there a way to see what kind of PS, and other components it needs. I hope I said everything right so you all can understand what my problem is.

Thanks alot, and im really lookin forward to getting advice/help.

if it stoped working and you tried all those different things then it sounds like its dead besides this is an old board and probably not worht it to buy new parts for

well that could be true, but a friend of mine told me that it could be the PS, and he was right because I tested it. So i was trying to figure out a way to see what kind of PS the motherboard supports. And also there is a green light on the MB, and it lights up, would that mean anything?

I never had the original case. My friend gave me alot of parts, and the MB was one of them. I built a pc with it, and like i said it did work, but i beleive the PS burnt out or something. Is there a certin wattage that the MB needs? or can it be any?

Get yourself something like a Corsair 450W Unit, they ar good units, and should last you a while, even between builds.

RAM: try this
