Default When to flash bios?

Hello all,

I just finished building a new system. Now do I flash the bios before or afer windows has been installed?

I've never flashed bios before, so any tips would be appreciated.

You don't, ever, unless you have a problem.

Yes, Dave is right. You should never really do a bios update unless your experiencing problems.

But I`ve done bios updates when I`ve had an old motherboard. If you have an Asus mobo, they have an asus update ultility you could use. But yeh, you would do a bios update after Windows is installed. Just make sure you have a copy of your current bios, incase anything goes wrong.

Regards Jason.

Because 99% of people don't experience the 'bugs' so have no need to flash it.

Ever hear the phrase if it isn't broke don't fix it.

There is nothing worse than when you get a power cut right in the middle of a BIOS flash. Yes it has happened to me.

I still have that motherboard, no idea what to do with it now??? It just junk as far as I can see.
