Default Will This Processor Work?

Hey people!
Just upgrading another computer as usual
Im putting an Intel Pentium D820 (same as my own) into an ASUS P5S800 VM/S Motherboard.

I have the same processor in my computer on a Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 Motherboard and it works GREAT! but was wondering if it will work in the asus motherboard, i have read the motherboard specs but to be honest alot of it kinda means nothing to me soooo can someone help please

also can you tell me if it will be ok in the motherbard as my processor instructions says "failure to use an appropriate motherbard may result in unstable system operation and run the processor out of specification"

Many Thanks:

Asus say they support D CPUs, one way is to try it, will either work or it won't.

Trying it wont damage anything.

I think it should work fine of the top of my head.

As Dave said, nothing to bad should happen if it isn't supported.

You may want to flash the BIOS before you change the processor in case it was only supported in a newer BIOS version.
